Beautiful Bluemont Vineyard Wedding

We are thrilled to start off 2018 with a post featuring Rachel and Matt’s Beautiful Bluemont Vineyard Wedding, which took place on October 14th. This wedding was special to us because we photographed Rachel’s older brother, Nathan’s wedding last year. We fell in love with their family at Nathan’s wedding, so we are so excited when their mother, Donna Jo, called and asked us to photograph Rachel’s wedding.

We also felt very honored because Donna Jo’s lifelong best friend, Jeanette, is a fellow professional photographer. Jeanette is an award-winning commercial photographer and we have known her for years. When Nathan proposed to Katie she told Donna Jo that she should talk to Hayes & Fisk because we were the “best in Virginia”. This meant the world to us. Jeannette now lives in Colorado but her and her entire family flew in for both weddings.

Rachel was the most organized bride that we have ever had and she and her mom worked very hard planning a perfect day. And frankly, it was. All of the vendors we amazing and the floral, food, cakes and entertainment were over the top! Plus the weather was actual perfection. We loved that Rachel and Matt’s number one priority was lots of portraits of the two of them together. This gave us a lot of time to walk around the vineyard and create some stunning images.

The signature drinks were flowing as well as a selection of local beers and Bluemont Vineyard wines. The dessert table was AMAZING with so many delectable options. The wedding cake was divine (we each got a piece too!). Dinner was served family style and it was a great fall menu and at the end of the night, each guest got to leave with an apple cider donut made by Bluemont Vineyard. The DJ was so great to work with, super fun and kept the music and the dance floor packed. The crowd had a blast and danced until the very last song was played!

And as if photographing this wonderful wedding wasn’t enough, we just loved hearing these sweet words from Rachel right after the wedding…

Hi Mary and Jamie!

I just wanted to send you both an email to say thank you again for all you did on our wedding day (and for all of the communications prior to the wedding). You both made the picture taking process a breeze (besides the fact that my dress kept getting stuck in everything haha) and we are SOOOOOOOOO excited to see the pictures (based off of the already amazing ones that you posted on facebook/instagram). You guys were so much fun to work with and you both made us feel so comfortable and at ease during the picture taking process. We are so glad that both of you could make it! :) Hopefully, you will get to do more weddings at Bluemont Vineyard – I have already recommended Hayes and Fisk to a few people and will continue to do so as my friends in the area get engaged :) Thanks again for capturing our special day! You guys were amazing!
