Love at First Sight | Richmond, VA Wedding
It was love at first sight for Cathleen and Edwin. When this fun loving couple met, Edwin was playing baseball for the Flying Squirrels in Richmond, Virginia. They met at a game and Cathleen fell in love on the spot. This story made for a great toast by Cathleen’s honor attendant and best friend, Lindsey.
We were lucky to photograph both their Engagement Session and Cathleen’s Bridal Portraits. Edwin currently plays for the Mexican Baseball League so he has a very hectic travel schedule. Jamie flew to San Diego to photograph this session because as a professional baseball player his time is limited due to training and games. We captured her bridal portraits in our garden with luscious greenery and warm sunshine in the background. Her portrait was on display at the entrance of the club.
The Wedding Day
Their wedding day was the perfect blend of great fall weather, close family and friends and lots of fun! The ceremony and reception were held at the Country Club of Virginia’s James River Clubhouse. The ceremony was outside on the lawn under bistro lights followed by a reception indoors in the ballroom.
We met Cecelia, Cathleen’s mother when her cousin Bill Gerloff (Manny Green Entertainment owner and DJ extraordinaire) referred her to our studio. Hayes & Fisk photographed Bill’s daughter’s wedding a few years ago at Westover Plantation. We were very excited and honored to be photographing another wedding in the extended Gerloff family.
Amber at CCV had everything planned and in perfect order. Her team of trained professionals made for a flawless wedding. They are always such a pleasure to work with. However, Cecelia also played a large role in the wedding planning process. Her coworkers at Morgan Stanley joked that they couldn’t wait to have her back at work now that the wedding was over.
The entire day was perfect. Everyone had such a great time as laughter filled the air all day long. DJ Dennis Collins of Manny Green Entertainment had all of the guests on the dance floor, including the grandparents. The food was delicious, the decor was beautiful and the popcorn send-off what so unexpected and unique. After 35 years of photographing weddings, we can say that was definitely a first.
This was a very exciting year for Edwin and his family because not only did they welcome to lovely Cathleen into their family, but Edwin’s team also won the National Title. It was a pretty good year for the Crouch and Quirarte Families!
