Smith Family Portrait Session

Capturing the essence of family love through timeless portraits is an art we hold dear. At Hayes & Fisk, we celebrate families who cherish and honor their children's lives by proudly displaying our exquisite oil portraits.

Meet Katie and Kevin, a couple who hold their only child, Collins, in the highest regard. Their love extends not only to their child but also to the children of their friends. If you're acquainted with Katie, Kevin, or any of their friends, we invite you to join us for one of our upcoming image competitions this year. It's the easiest and best way to celebrate the lives you've brought into this world. Connect with Katie or Kevin, and they will guide you on how to participate, ensuring that your children's precious moments are properly documented for generations to come.

Our connection with Katie originated from a referral by our longtime clients, Janet and Bruce Kay, who have become like family. Katie's mom and Janet, visited our studio to approve her most recent grandchild's Hand Painted Oil Portrait – one more to go until we complete oils of all four grandchildren at the age of five.

Their portrait design began with a Zoom call, where we collaboratively selected the perfect location for their oil portrait in their home. This space, where Katie and Kevin start and end their day, serves as a constant reminder of the love they pour into Collins's life. We incorporated their home's color palette and aesthetic into their clothing, maintaining authenticity by choosing outfits from their own closets. The direction of natural light and the daily flow of activity in their home guided us in sculpting the perfect lighting for their faces – a touch that makes each Oil portrait absolutely perfect.

Our 30-minute session started with Katie, Kevin, and Collins all together in our gazebo. Here we explored various poses, capturing as many expressions as Collins would allow. Surprisingly, he not only had a blast but also lasted longer than expected, giving us a chance to capture his genuine expressions. The range of emotions, from alligator tears to belly laughs, makes this age our absolute favorite for preserving a child's unique personality.

Their commitment to preserving family visual history ensures that the Smith legacy will be cherished by generations to come. Here's to creating lasting memories and traditions that withstand the test of time!
